About

Hi! I’m Gencay. I left my career in banking to dedicate myself fully to my true passion: yoga. Although I began practicing yoga in 2011, it wasn’t until 2018—after nearly a decade in international finance—that yoga truly became the heart of my life. Since then, I have been teaching group and private classes both in the UK and Turkey (virtually as well) and guiding students toward a more mindful and fulfilling practice.

Over the years, I have explored a variety of yoga styles, including Hatha, Yin, Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga, amassing over 1,000 hours of training. My teachings are especially focused on Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness. With an extensive background in these disciplines, I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where students of all levels can explore their inner selves and transform their lives.

Having spent 10 years in ballet, I understand firsthand the importance of balancing flexibility with care for the body. Through yoga, I found an approach that is both mindful and sustainable—one that promotes strength and resilience without pushing past healthy limits. Yoga has not only strengthened my body but also taught me the power of intuition and the importance of self-connection.

My approach to teaching emphasizes self-awareness, compassion, and sustainable practice, inviting individuals to find peace in their bodies, no matter their age, gender, or flexibility level. During the challenges of COVID-19, many of us realized the importance of physical and emotional health. Yoga, as I believe, is a powerful tool to sustain this health by encouraging self-exploration and growth in a non-judgmental environment.

Come join me on this transformative journey!

TESTIMONIAL
Testimonials
“I like the variety of poses and series she involves within her classes. Flow changes every week based on an aim and our requests. I don't feel challenged but the improvement is also visible after a few months. Because she watches each of us with attention and corrects our poses even when it's not that easy online She also combines each class with breathing exercises and meditation which makes yoga sessions not just a physical exercise but also a time for relaxation.”
“Feeding the soul and body with pleasure.. The moments when 1 hour is so short!”
